EDGU (edge-you)- Evolutionary Spinal Maintenance. Grounded in an open, stable stance that specifically isolates all motion to the spine, the upper body is gracefully gyrated through a fluid sequence of pivital movements. This art of rythmic spinal tuning systematically exercises the intervertebral discs to avoid disc degeneration by maintaining their inherent strength, pliability and absorbency. EDGU balances the left and right hemispheres of the body/brain, releases mal-aligned vertebrae, and self-liberates compensation patterns held in the body.

Daily Range of Motion For Your Whole Spine. Did you know that fully one-half of your spinal cord is for the detection of movement? This is called proprioception. When you move your spine through its full range of motion, you send a flood of energizing, health-promoting proprioceptive impulses to your brain’s coordination center for thought, memory, affect/emotions, learning, and your internal organs. And, you increase your serotonin production, which is your natural feel-good brain chemical. Join us for just 15 minutes of spinal warm-up to relax and revitalize at the end of your work day!

Detoxification for Optimum Health. It is a fact of life that your environment is polluted. The air you breathe, the water you drink, the personal care products you put on your skin, and the food you eat all contribute to a toxic overload. A study released May 23 by the Toxic-Free Legacy Coalition and featured in a Seattle Times article, showed that “each [person studied] tested positive for at least 26, and as many as 39, toxic chemicals… These chemicals were in some cases found at or above levels that have been linked to serious health problems.” Many of our patients have found that detoxifying helps reduce or eliminate chronic back and neck pain.

Core Strengthening – Using an Exercise Ball. Lack of core strength is associated with chronic back pain. Learn a fun and powerful way to improve your core strength using an exercise ball. Using a ball has the added benefit of increasing proprioceptive impulses to your brain, which in turn stimulations your brain’s coordination center for thought, learning, memory, emotions, internal organs, and movement. Plus, it helps promote production of serotonin, your brain’s natural “feel good” chemical.

According to two articles in PsychologyToday.com (The Benefits of Meditation by Colin Allen and The Science of Meditation by Cary Barbor) consistent practice of mediate, for even just ten minutes a day, can help you (1) feel calmer and happier; (2) decrease anxiety and depression; (3) shift brain activity away from the fear and stress centers of your brain, and (4) ward off stress-related conditions such as heart disease, digestive problems, obesity, cancer and infertility. You will learn simply and effective methods for meditation, so that you can experience these benefits.
